- -Apr., '97-
- "German Contemporary Photography: Distanz und Nähe"
(photo, National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto, 3/18-5/11)
- It was the German complete works of Bernd and Hilla Bacher,
or their follower, and is cool too. But, It seemed to like something
outside of reality by eccentriced accuracy and big size.
Bacher's work was wonderful as expected among these exhibitors.
- "Man Ray Photo Exhibition"
(photo, Daimaru Museum, Kyoto Daimaru Department Store, 4/3-15)
- I could know the correctness of Man Ray's blurring
for the fast time. But, there were unnecessary re-prints
or contact too much. I think that the exhibition
of department store by commercialism is
still looked unnecessary or excess many works.
- "David Lynch Exhibition: DREAMS"
(photo & Parco Gallery, Nagoya, 3/19-4/13)
- As an amusement of film director, it seemed to go ahead
of image or fashion. It didn't go out of the promotion
in his next move.
- -Mar., '97-
- "Tatsuo Nambu Photo Exhibition: Twelve Pieces in Spain"
(photo, Cross Gallery, Nagoya, 3/21-31)
- It was no problem, or good photography too.
But, I felt nothing for it. Why did I think so?
I wanted to be thought by him about this thing,
out of active commercial photographer.
- "Photo coterie VERO, Vol.6: Verolin Wall"
(photo, Art Space H, Aichi Art Center, Nagoya, 3/18-23)
- Uh....., it likes to be stagnant now. This exhibition was
cleared the individual difference of basic practice.
We haven't kept this exhibition by only appearance.
I think that we must make new scheme of growing system.
- (return to Univ. Photo Clubs around Nagoya)
- "Ray Collection Exhibition"
(photo, Hart Field Gallery, Nagoya, 3/11-16)
- This exhibition is made
by Photo Club of Nagoya Design Art University.
The last exhibition is looked wide expressions.
But, I felt revolving photography in this exhibition.
It was good work that wasn't only like art student
but also straight photography. This is one of student groups
that are able to apprised in Nagoya.
- "Graduation Exhibition of Photo Club in Kinjyo Gakuin University:
Jyojyo (little by little)"
(photo, this is it, Nagoya, 3/4-9)
- I feel to a little excess of the display, but free expression
so far too. I want to keep growing their photographs
over the future.
- "Absolute Landscape: Between Illusion and Reality"
(photo, Yokohama Museum, 2/1-3/30)
- The tendency of the exhibition was excess in variety
as from documentary to art. There were works that thought little
of feeling in this space, only concepts. So it is curator's taste,
the exhibition was able to appraise in the resolution
of now photographic view as "absolute landscape".
- "Berenice Abbott Photos: Frozen Moment"
(photo, Tower Gallery, Yokohama, 2/21-3/30)
- I felt light it after all. Especially, science photography.... .
- Jürgen Klauke Exhibition:
Play of Phantom"
(photo & art, Saitama Prefectural Museum of Modern Art, Urawa,
Saitama, 2/8-3/23)
- He was German contemporary artist by photography.
I was deeply impressed by his strait sexual expression
in the first time, although more direct. But I couldn't be satisfied
with resent beautiful works so much.
- (return to antenna)
- Traces of Light in Modernism:
Koshiro Onchi, Osamu Shiihara and Ei-Kyu"
(photo & art, Film Center, National Museum of Modern Art,
Tokyo, 2/11-3/29)
- I lost my heart to softness of Koshiro, power of Ei-Kyu.
Only Shiihara's works were inferior to others. Why did it exist?
- "Harry Callahan Photographs"
(photo, P.G.I. Shibaura, Tokyo, 1/28-3/14)
- There was soft and quiet photography. I think well
as that time in a while.
- -Feb., '97-
- "Eiichi Mizuno Photo Exhibition:
Smiled Flower by Sunshine Remembrance Through Foliage"
(photo, 4GAT, Nagoya, 2/18-3/1)
- It was confusing as various photographs by that time,
but it was very natural in his works too. I want to see selected
next exhibition from more accumulation in the future.
- "Isamu Wakabayashi 1989-1996: Iron and Remembrance"
(art, Nagoya City Museum, 2/8-3/23)
- The feeling of sulfur was good, but I didn't see
the contemporary sculpture so much as this. What is it
different from the concrete or iron clod?
- "Mamoru Sakakura Photo Exhibition, Call From A Distance"
(photo, 4GAT, Nagoya, 1/21-2/1)
- It was more personal photographs than the exhibition before,
but it needed to explain on the ward yet. I think that he should
only follow the reflected thing in his photograph.
- -Jan., '97-
- "Tamiji Kitagawa Retrospective"
(art, Aichi Museum of Art, Nagoya, 11/22-1/26)
- There was clear color in the picture than I thinking. But,
I feel more impression in natural works than straight massage.
Of course I think that art has its aspect too,
what is social school in art?
- "Photo Exhibition: Good Humor (Jyokigen-Ten)"
(photo, Hoshigaoka Station Gallery, Nagoya, 1/17-24)
- Exhibitors were university students in Nagoya and Mie.
It was good that it went across each other's university,
although small space. In this exhibition, the children's photograph
by Yamamoto was best of it.
- "Ja-Neigh-Ro Photo Exhibition: 1+1+1+1"
(photo, Nagoya Civil Gallery, 1/5-12)
- The exhibition consisted of four personal exhibition
by member of university photo club or alumnus.
I though that it should be unified in the whole. Separately,
Osada's work with ambiguous light was best, but Owaki's nude
with model wasn't himself works as taken in the lecture.
I think that my work should be taken on my model.
- "William Wedgman from Permanent Exhibition"
(photo, National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto, 12/25-1/19)
- I liked the simplicity that photography was take
upward arranging dogs as alphabet or number,
although pathetic his for dogs.
- "An Aspect of Korean Art in the 1990's"
(art, National Museum of Modern Art, Osaka, Suita, Osaka, 12/5-1/26)
- I feel more strict realty in Korea than Japan
with coarse some works.
- -Dec., '97-
- "Archaeology of Future City"
(architecture, Gifu Prefectural Museum, Gifu, 11/12-12/22)
- There were died city, I felt ghastly a little.
- "Photo Exhibition in Art Festival
of Tokai Area National Universities"
(photo, City Cultural Center, Toyoake , Aichi, 11/29-12/1)
- It was that the exhibition hadn't been so good,
but this exhibition was not so bad. I felt good for self-portraits
with color snap by the member of Shizuoka Univ. photo club
among reliable many people in national university,
color works with mysterious color by Ikeda and
processing film works by Takahara of member of Nagoya Univ..
