The church
of Saint-Etienne. It reminded
me of some churches I saw in Scandinavia –
later I learned that “Honfleur” came from ancient Viking word “Honnefleu”.
Should have noticed from the region
name Norman-die, but it did not strike me that there were many traffics between
the north and this area until I travel this time.
サンテチエンヌ教会。ちょっとスカンジナビア半島で見た教会に似ているな、と思ったら街の名前もバイキングの言葉に由来、ノルマンディーもノルマン(北方の人)・・ということで古くからいろいろと交流があったことを知りました。
